Work Adjustment Theory (WAT)
Developed by Dawis and Lofquist, WAT focuses on the interaction between an individual and their work environment through two critical dimensions:
Satisfaction (Work Values)
Measures if the job meets your core needs: achievement, relationships, support, working conditions, independence, and recognition.
Satisfactoriness (Work Styles)
Evaluates if you have the behavioral qualities required by the job, across 16 work-style dimensions (conscientiousness, interpersonal skills, etc.).
Benefits
- Assess your values and behavioral traits to predict job satisfaction and performance
- Match you with roles where both your needs are met and your abilities align
- Predict long-term career adjustment and likelihood of staying in a role
